GURDON, AR-Last night in Gurdon Arkansas in the Dixie league 7 & 8 year old baseball small town state championship; the Gurdon All-Stars beat the Caddo River Baseball Association National All-Stars 12-8. Gurdon got off to a 4-0 lead, Caddo River National came back to take an 8-7 lead in the top of the 5th but in the bottom of the 5th, Gurdon’s Thomas Muldron hit a grand slam home run to give Gurdon the championship.  The Caddo River National All-Star head coach is Michael White and he told KWXI Sports that his team with players from Mt. Ida, Kirby and Caddo Hills never gave up.

 

The Caddo River Nationals were led by Jonathon LaGrange who was 3-3, Hayden Johnson was 2-3 with two doubles, George Lopez was 2-3 with a double, Drew Allen was 3-3 with a double, Tyler Jones was 2-3 and Cade Jackson, Ty Abernathy, Luke Fiorello, Tyler Hamilton and Seth Breashers each had hits. By finishing runner up at the small town state tournament, The Caddo River National All-Stars earned the right to play in the state tournament in Hope beginning July 10th. Coach Michael White said they’re looking forward to it.
